Jose Aldo has parted ways with the Black House management team of Jorge Guimaraes and Ed Soares.
His management will now be entirely in the hands of his long-term coach Andre Pederneiras, head of Nova Uniao, as it was in his early days of competition.
“I’m his only manager now. We’ve sat down, talked and found it was the best way to go. Since things are happening in Brazil now, we thought it was the best call,” Pederneiras told Tatame.
But Pederneiras also stressed that other fighters from his team will continue to be managed by the Black House outfit.
Referring to Johnny Eduardo, Diego Nunes and Luis Ramos he said Soares and Guimaraes “helped us to get these guys there [in the UFC], I wasn’t fair firing them.”
Aldo’s departure comes six months after Junior Dos Santos also split with Black House shortly before fighting for the UFC heavyweight title, which he won. He felt he could handle his own management and has been doing so ever since, with the aid of an attorney in his native Brazil.
