Nick Diaz’s coach Cesar Gracie is not a fan of Greg Jackson’s camp nor Nevada judges.
He let both have it during an appearance on The MMA Hour following his fighter’s decision loss to Carlos Condit in the main event of UFC 143 on Saturday night.
Many fans felt the decision should have gone Diaz’s way and controversy has raged over the judges scoring and Condit’s tactics, which were elusive in the extreme.
Gracie thinks that the judges don’t like Nick personally:
“They’ve never liked Nick in Vegas. They've never voted for him in a decision. The only one was the BJ Penn fight, and he almost had to kill BJ to get that one.
“I don't think they like his attitude, a guy that's going to go out there and talk. I think they think he's disrespectful. They're going to find a reason to judge against him. I don't think he can get fair judging in that state at all.”
Gracie also doesn’t like the Jackson tactics:
“It's one thing to avoid standing in the pocket, it's one thing to know how to dodge punches and kicks, and be somewhat elusive and have great defense. It’s another thing to turn your back and run from a fighter. That's completely different.
“You shouldn't be telling your fighter to fight like that. I think it's a disgrace and a shame. I've said this before: I don't like that camp. I'm not going to take that back.”
After the fight there was talk of an immediate rematch being possible and UFC president Dana White was definitely interested. But Condit’s management have since said that they have no interest in a rematch and they are looking forward to a fight with Georges St. Pierre later this year.
Condit may even take a fight to keep busy in the meantime but it won’t be against Diaz. And in fact Diaz was so incensed that his post-fight speech was one of retirement from the sport. There has been no word from him since, and it was probably only heat of the moment talk, but his ire was not entirely unjustified.

Sorry but Diaz went from low to blow as a result of his after fight speech. I've never been a fan but you can't deny his talent, to a point.
The guy lost on Saturday because he has only 1 game plan, assuming your opponent is going to be happy to get into a slug fest when your known for it? Why not just ask him to just keep his hands on his hips!
The sport is mixed martial arts for a reason. People have different styles and you have to train and adjust to that. What Condit did in this fight is no different to the way Lyoto Machida has been fighting for years only Condit did it while landing more strikes. The difference is only his weight class, fighters in the cage with Lyoto have had to adapt.
Diaz has never been a crowd favorite but crying and saying your going to retire because you got out classed and out thought in a fight... Yeah maybe he should retire because I sure don't want to see that again after a fight.
Thanks for the shows Nick it's been sweet, until now.
Hope retirement is good to you.

It sickens me to hear all this talk of a "controversial decision" and Diaz moaning about Condit's tactics. Diaz had 25 mins to counter Condit's gameplan and wasn't good enough to do it. I had a great deal of respect for Diaz prior to this fight, but his poor sportsmanship has disappointed me. The situation reminded me of Arsene Wenger's many moans when Arsenal couldn't beat a defensive side. Diaz goes on about his boxing so much i can only think he must be embarrassed about being outboxed! Me and the three friends i watched this with, are all Diaz fans and were waiting with baited breath for GSP v Diaz, but we all felt Condit won the bout easily, 4 round to 1. Diaz and Gracie should stop being such poor losers and train to fight against a opponent who isn't just going to stand there and engage in a slugfest. On this evidence (not that any was needed) GSP would have destroyed Diaz. Diaz, be a man you lost a fight take it on the chin (which you were doing plenty of Saturday night!).
