NSAC: One fighter failed drug test at 'UFC 143: Condit vs Diaz'
The Nevada State Athletic Commission has revealed that there was at least one positive drug test at UFC 143 last weekend.
Keith Kizer, head of NSAC, responded to a Fighters Only email today to confirm the finding.
“Thank you for the many emails and phone calls,” he wrote. “I am still waiting for all the steroid and drug test results to come back.
“We did have at least one positive test. I will send out an email later today on that matter.”
Fighters Only had contacted NSAC in light of yesterday’s revelations that a rematch between Carlos Condit and Nick Diaz would not be forthcoming.
They headlined UFC 143 and it resulted in a controversial decision win for Condit, but Condit’s camp were agreed to a re-run.
So were Diaz’s - until a sudden volte-face occurred and his trainer/manager Cesar Gracie stated categorically that a rematch would not be happening any time soon.
That prompted speculation that Diaz had tested positive for something and given that he is a marijuana advocate - he has a Californian medical marijuana card - and has tested positive for the same in Nevada previously, the pieces seem to be falling into place.
Of course it cannot be said for definite that Diaz has tested positive for anything as yet; further news will be forthcoming from Kizer later today.

Well turns out it was Diaz, he tested positive for marijuana metabolites. Good thing he didn't win the fight i guess, would be much more embarassing to have won and have the interim title stripped.
No wonder he doesnt want an rematch straight away he cant he will be banned anyway...mike how ya know mate? also can you point me in the direction of any other good mma sites..cheers

excellent thanks Mike :-)......Cheers jj....its not like marijuana is performance enhancing...i know its a drug but if anything its gona make you perform worse lol...hope its not a big ban fair enough if it were steroids..
