Paul Sass has his third UFC fight lined up.
Fighters Only learned today that the Scouse submission ace will face Jacob Volkmann at UFC 146 on May 26th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The fight pits Sass’ 12-0 undefeated record against the five-fight win streak that Volkmann is on since dropping to lightweight.
It will likely take place on the preliminary portion of the card.
Sass has scored back-to-back submission wins in the UFC, starting with a triangle victory of Mark Holst at UFC 120 in October 2010 and followed by a heel-hook win over Michael Johnson a year later.
A submission specialist, Sass has gone to decision only once in his twelve fight professional career and his record includes eight consecutive triangle victories. That is thought to be the world record for consecutive triangle wins in professional mixed martial arts.
There is an added nuance to the clash, as Volkmann holds a win over Sass’ team mate Paul Kelly from summer 2010. Kelly went 1-1 after the loss and was released by the UFC.
