TUF 12 graduate Aaron Wilkinson has signed a five-fight deal with the CageWarriors promotion.
Wilkinson, 25, signed the exclusive deal this week. It will kick in after the Manchester man fights on the April 27 card being staged by UCC in his home city of Manchester.
“Aaron is a very exciting fighter who already has a lot of experience under his belt,” said Cage Warriors director Graham Boylan. “But we feel the best is still to come from him and everyone at Cage Warriors is very happy to have him on board.”
Wilkinson (8-5-0) was part of Team Koscheck on The Ultimate Fighter season 12 and is managed by the Wolfslair. Since the Wolfslair’s UK facility near Liverpool burned down earlier this year he has trained at the SBG Mainline facility in central Manchester.
He has had one fight proper in the UFC, a lightweight match at the TUF 12 Finale in December 2010. He faced Cody McKenzie but lost to his opponent’s trademark guillotine. Since then he has been fighting for UCC in his native Manchester.
The CageWarriors contract is exclusive but contains provision for Wilkinson to be released should he receive a call from the UFC, Strikeforce or Bellator. If that should happen he has leave to take offers up, but is contracted to return to CageWarriors afterwards to complete his remaining fights.
