Rousimar Palhares will face Yushin Okami at UFC 150.
The fight has been made following an injury to Luiz Cane, who was to make his middleweight debut against Okami at the August event.
Palhares goes into the fight off the back of a loss to Alan Belcher in May. The loss derailed the significant hype train that Palhares was acquiring and, gallingly for the Brazilian, saw him outperformed in his own specialist area of jiu jitsu.
Okami is on an 0-2 run after a failed attempt to take the belt from Anderson Silva at UFC 134 ended in a TKO win for the Brazilian. That was followed by a fight with Tim Boetsch at UFC 144, when Boetsch upset the odds makers to take a third round stoppage win.
Cane has dropped to middleweight following a KO loss to Stanislav Nedkov at UFC 134, which put him 1-3 in his last four outings. Cane was once a standout prospect at light-heavyweight but a string of losses has forced him to reconsider his weight class.
‘UFC 150: Henderson vs. Edgar II’ takes place August 11 in Denver.
