There were 16,080 fans in attendance at last night’s UFC on FOX: Shogun vs. Vera card, according to data provided at the post-fight press conference.
UFC president Dana White gave the attendance number and also the live gate total of $1.1 million.
Official figures will be provided by the California State Athletic Commission, which oversaw the event, later in the week.
The headline fights were provided by Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua/Brandon Vera and Lyoto Machida/Ryan Bader.
The UFC had promised that whomever of the four won “most impressively” would get the next title shot against the winner of the UFC 151 fight between Jon Jones and Dan Henderson.
Lyoto Machida got the nod. His second-round stoppage of Bader was deemed more impressive than Rua’s fourth-round finish of Vera.
