The ‘fighter lifestyle’ is well-known for being a bit crazy. Training twice a day, starving yourself to make weight, fending off the groupies - and that’s just an average Monday.
Now three British UFC stars - John Maguire, Che Mills and Jason ‘Shotgun’ Young - can add “racing a giant squirrel” to the list of opportunities their MMA career has brought them.
This photo landed in our inbox this morning, complete with the following information about the trio’s recent trip to support the Nottingham cricket team:
“The UFC fighters wanted to show their support for The Outlaws [cricket team] ahead of their much anticipated event at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham on the 29th September.
“The trio challenged Nottinghamshire’s fastest bowlers during the pre-match build up and following this they underwent an obstacle race with the Club Mascot, Nuts The Squirrel.”
Sadly there is no video footage available of the three competing against Nuts the Squirrel but we are reliably informed that he put up a good fight before falling back into fourth place.
The UFC returns to the UK on 29th September at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham. Tickets are available from UFC.com
