Matt Riddle received a 90-day suspension from the Calgary Athletic Commission in Canada after testing positive for marijuana use, it has been reported.
Welterweight fighter Riddle had traces of marijuana in a post-fight sample provided after UFC 149, according to MMA Junkie.
Also testing positive was Francisco Rivera, who had traces of “an undisclosed over-the-counter stimulant” in his sample.
Their 90-day suspensions were backdated to the July 21 event and expire today, making them eligible for a return to action.
Neither fighter contested the test results or the consequent suspensions. The results of their fights - a first-round KO win for Rivera and a third-round submission win for Riddle - were not overturned.
