The Bellator 79 weigh-ins have been completed from Orillia, Ontario in preparation for Bellator’s Friday night event at Casino Rama, which features the semifinals of the Bellator Season 7 Heavyweight and Featherweight Tournaments.
The card features one of the semi-final matches for the heavyweight tournament currently underway and it should be a cracker. It features America’s Rich Hale against Brazilian representative Thiago Santos - and Hale really has no respect for the man they call ’The Monster’.
The professional boxer describes Santos’ vaunted right hand as “bullsh-t” and his ground game as “dogsh-t”. He has also let rip at the rest of the tournament entrants via an interview with MMA Junkie, saying he “definitely wasn't impressed” with Alexander Volkov’s win over Brett Rogers.
He also dismissed the win UFC veteran Vinicius Queiroz scored over Mark Holata in a come-from-behind victory. “Vinicius is supposed to be some kind of bad ass striker and he gets dropped by Holata? Don't get me wrong, he showed a lot of heart and great jiu-jitsu to be able to pull off that armbar, but none of these guys left me impressed.”
