Dennis Hallman has lost his house in a fire.
The blaze started in the early hours of Thursday morning and ended up consuming the entire property.
“Sad Thanksgiving for me and my family. My house burned down early this AM. Thank God no one was hurt and I have that to be thankful for,” he posted on Facbook.
“Something like this makes my recent direction change all the harder...the one person that could make me feel okay about everything is no longer here. When God wants you to have a fresh start sometimes he really wants to make his point clear.”
Hallman recently left the UFC under a cloud after being released for missing weight on two consecutive occasions. He blamed the most recent failed cut on “personal issues at home”.
He was given his show money for his UFC on FX 5 fight with Thiago Tavares, despite it being scrapped because of his missing weight, and is now a free agent.
A veteran of the sport, Hallman’s record includes two quick submission wins over Matt Hughes, the former UFC welterweight champion.
