Anderson Silva was on Brazilian radio at the weekend.
Talk to turned to his rematch with Chris Weidman, which will take place December 28 in Las Vegas. The former champion joked that he will be bringing in some special forces for his training.
“I had a nightmare with Weidman, but I don’t fear him. He is determined, but has two arms and two legs just like me,” he said.
“Now I’ll bring Chuck Norris [to my camp]. I’ll bring both, Chuck Norris and Steven Seagal.”
Weidman took the belt from Anderson by way of second-round KO at UFC 162, a shock upset which ended Anderson’s record-setting run and ended a 16-fight win streak.
Insiders suggest he genuinely wasn’t that keen to have a rematch - he says the title brings a huge amount of pressure - but that the UFC leaned on him to accept.
That was also hinted at by fellow Black House fighter Lyoto Machida last week. He made reference to Anderson being “influenced” by the UFC in his decision to take the rematch.
