Current Cage Rage British Middleweight Champion and Pride Bushido veteran Zelg Galesic (6-2-0) looks set to make his second foray into Japan on September 17th, as K-1 Heros announced today on their website http://www.hero-s.com that the British based Croatian will face the Korean Dong Sik Yoon (1-4-0) at their next event in just three weeks time.
Galsic, who trains out of the Trojan Freefighters Gym is known for his punishing stand-up skills and improving ground work that has seen him defeat the likes of James E Nicholle and Curtis Stout, before defeating Mark Weir to win the Cage Rage British Middleweight Title back in December last year. With his only defeats against the UFC veteran Paul Taylor and former Judo Olympic gold medal winner Makoto Takimoto, Galesic is one of Europe's best prospects in an improving Middleweight division.
However despite his 1-4 MMA record, Dong Sik Yoon is a famous and world class Judoka, and at one time had a run of 47 consecutive victories. A four time gold medalist in the Asian Championships, Dong Sik Yoon's introduction into the world of MMA was somewhat challenging with 4 straight losses against top MMA stars such as Kazushi Sakuraba, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Murilo Bustamante. However he rebounded earlier this year with an impressive victory against former Cage Rage Light-Heavyweight Champion Melvin Manhoef at K-1 Hero's Dynamite USA.
This should be an interesting striker vs. grappler clash with Galesic eager to avoid a second straight lost to a Judoka, whilst Dong Sik Yoon will be looking to make it 2-0 in K-1 Heros, when he faces another powerful up-and-coming striker next month
