UK MMA: Cage Gladiators announces ITV deal

British mixed martial arts promotion Cage Gladiators is to be broadcast on ITV4, it has been revealed.

Cage Gladiators VII takes place on April 27th at the Liverpool Olympia and will be filmed by an ITV crew for broadcast in May.

It is the first time that any UK MMA promotion has secured such a deal with a mainstream broadcasting entity such as ITV.

Chris Zorba and Emile Coleman, the promoters of Cage Gladiators, have expressed great satisfaction with the deal, which came “after many months of negotiations”.

Programmes on ITV4 draw an average of 105,000 viewers, rising to as many as 500,000 at peak times.

UK MMA fans can watch Cage Gladiators VII in a two-hour special on ITV4, which will be broadcast on Sunday 18th May.

Meanwhile, Cage Gladiators VI takes place at the Liverpool Olympia on Sunday March 2nd and features a heavyweight title clash between Tom Blackledge and Martin Thompson.
