Earlier today, UFC President and Khabib Nurmagomedov met to discuss the UFC lightweight champion’s fighting future.

The pair met on Friday afternoon in Abu Dhabi during a UAE Warriors event, where Nurmagomedov was a guest and White was filming his “Dana White’s Looking For A Fight” show for the UFC.

White posted a video of the two heading to a meeting room to talk over Nurmagomdeov’s future in fighting.

The Dagestan mauler retired from mixed martial arts at UFC 254 following his dominant submission victory over Justin Gaethje in October last year.

That victory saw Nurmagomedov move to a perfect 29-0 in MMA competition, one shy of the perfect 30-0 record his late father Abdulmanap had made a target for his son earlier in his career.

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, a highly influential figure in the Caucasus region, passed away last July from COVID-19 complications at the age of 57.

The passing of his mentor was the key reason behind Khabib hanging up his gloves in 2020.

White appears to be determined to get Nurmagomedov back on side to fight at least one more time to reach that 30-0 milestone.

Nurmagomedov has indicated he has little interest in fighting bitter rival Conor McGregor for a second time, though he has publicly stated his desires to fight former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre prior to retiring for good in the past.
