The two female fighters who have proudly flown the flag for Irish MMA will face off in a huge featherweight matchup in Dublin on February 25.
Former featherweight championship challenger Sinead Kavanagh and rising contender Leah McCourt will do battle in the cage at the 3Arena, Dublin as part of a stacked lineup on the Emerald Isle.
Northern Ireland’s McCourt is in the best form of her career heading into the bout. The 6-1 contender is riding a five-fight win streak, with her most recent outing showcasing her evolving skillset in a dominant decision victory over Jessica Borga at Bellator 267 in London last October.
She’ll take on hard-hitting Kavanagh, who is looking to re-establish her championship credentials after her stoppage defeat to reigning Bellator featherweight champion Cris Cyborg at Bellator 271 in November. Prior to her unsuccessful title tilt, Kavanagh had won two in a row to solidify her status as a dangerous contender at 145 pounds.
