It was a surprise to many when it was announced Penn was set to fight once again following his submission loss to Ryan Hall at UFC 232.

The former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion is currently enduring the worst form of his glittering fighting career, losing seven fights in a row. He now has an MMA record of 16-13-2.

Guida has not competed in the cage since June 2018 at UFC 225, dropping a first-round submission loss to Charles Oliveira.

UFC 237 is set to be headlined by a UFC strawweight championship bout between Rose Namajunas and Jessica Andrade.
