Bahraini MMA promotion Brave CF will crown a brand new bantamweight champion at Brave CF 57 as the organisation prepares for a huge week in March.

Friday, March 11 will see Brave CF 57 take place as part of the promotion’s International Combat Week festivities, which will also feature the recently-announced MMA Super Cup amateur national team tournament.

Already confirmed for the card in Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town is a bantamweight title clash between Hamza Kooheji and Brad Katona.

Bahrain’s Kooheji will be looking to mark his return to the Brave CF cage with a title victory after earning prior victories over the likes of Jeremy Pacatiw, Mohammad Farhad, Crisanto Pitpitunge and Nahuel Gandolfi. The 11-2 contender will have home-cage advantage and will be looking to make it count as he bids to capture championship gold on home soil.

But he’ll face in-form Canadian Katona, who has a 10-2 record, with notable wins over previously undefeated Serbian Borislav Nikolic and Russian contender Bair Shtepin, both under the Brave CF banner.

Brave CF officials have also confirmed that Kooheji vs. Katona will form one third of a title-fight triple-header at the top of the fight card as they look to stack the deck for their biggest fight week of 2022.
