The Cage Warriors flyweight title will be on the line when the promotion returns to Italy later this summer.

Cage Warriors 158 will take place Saturday, July 29 at Fiera Roma, Rome, with a champion-versus-champion clash set to top the fight card.

The main event will see the promotion’s bantamweight champion, Italy’s Michele Martignoni, drop down a division to challenge reigning flyweight champion Shajidul Haque for the 125-pound title.

Haque captured the flyweight crown with a superb come-from-behind performance to defeat Sam Creasey on New Year’s Eve 2022, while Martignoni claimed the bantamweight strap with victory over Dominique Wooding last October.

Now the man known as “The Italian Thunder” will bid to join the likes of Dan Hardy and Conor McGregor as a two-division Cage Warriors champion.

“We’ve put Italian MMA on the map with two incredible shows in Rome, headlined by two of the most memorable title fights in Cage Warriors history,” said Cage Warriors president Graham Boylan.

“Now we’re returning to the Fiera Roma with a third that could well be the best yet.

“Shaj Haque is one of the most dangerous flyweights in Europe, but Martignoni wants to bring Cage Warriors gold back to Italy.

“On July 29, we’re going to find out who is the best 125-pounder in Europe!”

Cage Warriors 158 will stream globally on UFC Fight Pass.
