Former CFFC welterweight champion Raheam Forest rebounded in the perfect manner as he stopped Treston Vines in stunning fashion in the main event of CFFC 121 in Mississippi.

Forest lost his 170-pound title to Charlie Radtke, who submitted him late in the opening round via rear-naked choke, then received a swift call-up to the UFC.

But, at the Horseshoe Casino & Hotel in Tunica, Forest claimed a hugely important victory to put him right in line to fight for his old title once again.

Clearly, Forest stepped back into the cage intending to make a big statement, and he delivered with a 26-second TKO of Vines, courtesy of a blistering 11-punch salvo after initially stuffing Vines’ early takedown attempt. It was a remarkable performance as Forest blasted his way back into the win column with style points.

The fight card in Tunica delivered a feast of finishes, with all five main card bouts producing stoppages.

The co-main event also featured welterweights, and undefeated contender Danny Barlow staked his own claim for a title shot with a 59-second knockout of Jarious Gill as he extended his perfect professional record to 6-0.

The main card also saw a trio of up-and-coming prospects improve their respective records to 3-0 with inside-the-distance victories. Middleweight Keith Dowell locked up a rear-naked choke to finish Lydell Poag in the third round, while heavyweight Petera Wilson needed just two minutes to stop Sir Langston Nembhard. Additionally, women’s bantamweight prospect Rebecca Evans defeated previously unbeaten Brazilian Marilia Moraes via second-round TKO.

The originally-scheduled main event – a featherweight title fight between Jose Perez and Chris Vasil – was scratched from the card after Perez was taken ill ahead of the event.
