UFC President Dana White has confirmed he is working on a trilogy fight between UFC heavyweight champion and Stipe Miocic and former UFC dual-champion Daniel Cormier.

No timeline has been provided for the third fight between this duo as both fighters are nursing injuries after their rematch at UFC 241. Though, this does heavily indicate Cormier isn’t done with mixed martial arts just yet.

“Stipe is recovering from that fight. He’s got some bumps and bangs from that fight. We’re waiting for him to heal and then yeah, we’re going to do the trilogy,” White told Barstool Sports.

Cormier was victorious in their first meeting back in 2018, knocking Miocic out in the first round. Miocic got his revenge in August, returning the favour with a fourth-round knockout win in a stirring comeback having clearly lost the first three rounds.

The trilogy fight would mean Francis Ngannou will have to wait longer to get another crack at Miocic and the UFC heavyweight title. After a brief dip in form, the Cameroonian-born slugger has compiled a three-fight streak of knockout wins to get his name back in the UFC title picture.
