Mere hours after defending his UFC flyweight title for the first time in emphatic style against Alex Perez, UFC President Dana White revealed he was working on getting Deiveson Figueiredo another title fight in December at UFC 256.

His opponent? Brandon Moreno who defeated Brandon Royval in headline attraction of the UFC 255 preliminary card.

“We’re going to keep [Figueiredo] here,” White said at the UFC 255 post-fight press conference on Saturday night. “He’s not going back to Brazil. We’re going to turn him right around [in] December. That’s what we’re working on.”

Not long after, ESPN’s Ariel Helwani confirmed that both Figueiredo and Moreno had verbally agreed to the quick turnaround title fight in a month’s time at UFC 256.

UFC 256 was in need of a title fight after the event lost a women’s featherweight championship bout between Amanda Nunes and Megan Anderson.

Figueiredo’s first title defence saw him submit Perez in the opening round. Further down the card, Moreno also scored a first-round victory by TKO over Royval.
