Hexagone MMA returns to Reims with two shows in June

Emerging French MMA promotion Hexagone MMA has confirmed two upcoming shows for Reims, France, with the city set to host two events in the month of June.

Hexagone MMA 8 will take place on Saturday, June 3 at Beziers Arena, known as “French Seville” due to its prior life as a bullfighting ring.

Headlining the event is a featherweight title bout between England’s Dean Garnett and Argentina’s Lucas Corbage. Garnett has already made a big impact in the French promotion after claiming the record for the fastest knockout in promotional history with a 20-second finish of Miguel Haro on his promotional debut at Hexagone MMA 6 in January. Now he’s set to fight for the 145-pound title against Corbage, who has an 11-1 career record and is targeting championship gold on his Hexagone MMA debut.

The co-main event features France’s own Mehdi Ben Lakhdar, with the undefeated lightweight scheduled to take on 6-1 Brazilian Wanderson Barcelos, while French strawweight Stephanie Ielo Page takes on Venezuela’s 36-fight veteran Karla Benitez. Also flying the Tricolore on fight night will be middleweight Antony Rea, who will be looking to claim his 39th professional win when he takes on Mohamed El Dwansy.

The event will also mark the promotional debut of Jack Claffey, the English former WWE star previously known as Jack “The Gentleman” Gallagher, who is targeting his first professional MMA victory as he prepares to face French featherweight Yassin Chtatou.

Following hot on the heels of that event, Hexagone MMA 9 will take place on Saturday, June 17, with a heavyweight title fight at the top of the card as Prince Aounallah takes on Paul-Emmanuel Gnaze for the gold.

French lightweight Anthony Dizy takes on Peru’s Roger Garcia, while England’s Tim Barnett faces off against French opposition in the form of Aby Tounkara.
