Former ONE bantamweight champion John Lineker produced a thrilling finish to stop Kim Jae Woong and further the reputation of his legendary “Hands of Stone” at ONE Fight Night 13 in Bangkok.

Lineker and Kim went back and forth through three rounds at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, but despite trading big shots, it looked like the bout was heading to the judges’ scorecards.

But, with the final seconds counting down, Lineker struck. A big overhand left dropped Kim hard, and a barrage of follow-up ground strikes forced referee Herb Dean to wave off the bout with just four seconds remaining.

Lineker’s dramatic stoppage win over a fellow contender will put him right back into the title conversation as he bids to earn a rematch with the man who dethroned him earlier this year, Fabricio Andrade, who was ringside to watch the bout in Bangkok.

‘Reug Reug’ defeats ‘Buchecha’ in heavyweight battle

Senegalese wrestling defeated Brazilian jiu-jitsu at ONE Fight Night 13 as Oumar “Reug Reug” Kane claimed the biggest win of his MMA career.

Kane defeated multi-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium to hand the Brazilian contender his first defeat in MMA after an at-times wild back-and-forth battle that, against all pre-fight predictions, went all the way to the judges’ scorecards.

The pair stood and traded big shots early on in the bout, before both men reverted to type and the fight went to the mat. With the bout on the canvas, we saw how Kane’s wrestling would cope with Almeida’s submission threat, and the Senegalese star fared remarkably well as he scrambled out of danger, sprawled expertly to avoid the Brazilian’s takedowns, and punished his man on the mat with some heavy ground and pound.

The action was scrappy at times, and Kane was yellow carded by referee Herb Dean for repeatedly grabbing the Almeida’s shorts in the clinch, but the sanction, which affected Kane’s fight purse, rather than the scorecards, didn’t deter “Reug Reug,” as he finished strongly on the feet falling to the ground in exhaustion at the bout’s conclusion.

The judges all scored the bout in Kane’s favor, and “Reug Reug’s” efforts were further rewarded with the announcement that he had earned a $50,000 bonus for his performance.

Brooks loses out in submission grappling title tilt

ONE’s strawweight world champion Jarred Brooks swapped sports and tested himself in a higher weight class as he faced off against grappling phenom Mikey Musumeci for the ONE flyweight submission grappling title, but “The Monkey God’s” title challenge ended in submission defeat.

Brooks competed strongly on the mat with the jiu-jitsu ace, but eventually found himself outmanouevered by “Darth Rigatoni” who locked up a triangle armbar to force the tap seven and a half minutes into the contest.

Allazov gets long-awaited revenge

The headline matchup saw a kickboxing rematch 10 years in the making, as featherweight champion Chingiz Allazov defended his crown and exacted revenge over his former nemesis, Marat Grigorian

The pair had met twice before, with the first bout ending in a no contest, and Grigorian taking the victory in the rematch. But in the third bout, Allazov showed his growth as a fighter as he looked one step ahead of his old adversary throughout their title fight to earn a unanimous decision, retain his title, and settle the score after a decade-long wait.
