Lucas “Mineiro” Martins is on the comeback trail.

The former Brave CF lightweight champion claimed an impressive first-round TKO victory over compatriot Henrique Marques at Brave CF 60 last weekend to end a frustrating run that saw him suffer three back-to-back losses, while six other bouts were cancelled.

Now he’s back in the win column, Martins plans to return to the top of the Brave CF lightweight division.

“First of all, thank you to Brave Combat Federation for the opportunity,” he said following his victory.

“Out of the last fights I was scheduled to fight in, all of them were cancelled. I know I came from three losses but with this win, you know where I belong and you know what I can do in this division. You know my level.

“Those who are with me, they know what I have been through, this fight was actually won way back, this right here was just fun.

“I told Brave CF president Mohammed Shahid that I know I can fight for the belt at lightweight and at super lightweight, but I don’t want to do that now. I want to sweep the Lightweight division.”

Martins then went on to reveal not one, but two targets he hopes to face, and defeat, en route back to the top of the lightweight division – Rolando Dy and Maciej “Magic Man” Gierszewski.

“I know Rolando Dy has challenged me before. Let’s start with him,” he stated.

“Is ‘Magic Man’ available right now? Let’s go. I can be ready in six weeks.

“I want to fight and beat everybody in that (lightweight) division, then take that belt first.”

The Brave CF lightweight division is currently headed by Egyptian champion Ahmed Amir, who is due to put his 155-pound title on the line against Kyrgyzstan’s Abdisalam Kubanychbek. Martins will have his sights set on facing the winner a little further down the line.
