ONE Championship is all set to make a concerted effort to break into the US market in 2022, with the promotion officially confirming its first five events to be streamed live as part of their new deal with Amazon Prime Video.

The deal will kick off with its debut event on the Prime Video streaming platform, ONE on Prime Video 1, which features a flyweight title rematch between reigning champion Adriano Moraes and former UFC flyweight king, and ONE flyweight Grand Prix champion, Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson.

At a joint press conference in Los Angeles, the full 2022 schedule of events on Prime Video was unveiled, with five events set to feature between now and the end of the year.

ONE on Prime Video 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II will take place on August 26, with subsequent events set to follow on September 30, October 21, November 18, and December 2.

“As the new, exclusive home of ONE Championship across the US and Canada, we are thrilled to bring these unique, multidisciplinary events to fans,” said Marie Donoghue, vice president of global sports video at Amazon.

“Martial arts fans are incredibly passionate and engaged, and we look forward to providing them with the best in combat sports as ONE Championship makes its primetime debut on Prime Video this fall.”

ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong also hailed the newly-struck partnership between his promotion and Prime Video, saying, “We are incredibly excited to kick off our new relationship with Prime Video on August 26 and announce the full 2022 event schedule!

“The first time that Adriano Moraes and Demetrious Johnson met inside the circle, no fans were allowed in the arena due to COVID-19. This time, the fight will be in a packed arena with millions watching around the world, and there could not be a better way to launch our US primetime events.

“We know that ONE brings an incredible and unique experience for fight fans – something completely different from what American audiences have seen before. We are excited to celebrate the wide range of martial arts disciplines and showcase the world’s best competitors on Prime Video.”
