The biggest rematch in ONE Championship history headlines the promotion’s first event on streaming giants Amazon Prime Video as Adriano Moraes and Demetrious Johnson get set to face off for a second time.

ONE on Prime Video 1 marks the first event in the promotion’s groundbreaking new deal to establish ONE Championship in the United States market. The live event will be held in the early morning in Singapore in order to align with US primetime, and they’ve stacked the deck with a card designed to showcase the best of ONE to American fight fans.

Moraes sensationally knocked out Johnson in their first meeting as the long-reigning flyweight champion retained his title against the UFC legend back in 2021. The 33-year-old from Brasilia has a record of 20-3, and highlighted the difference in the rulesets between the Unified Rules of MMA used in the States and the Global Ruleset used in ONE, which permits the use of knees to a grounded opponent. Moraes took advantage of that against “Mighty Mouse” to finish the former UFC flyweight king midway through the second round to cement his status as the premier flyweight in the promotion.

If Johnson was caught out somewhat in the first meeting, he’s had plenty of time to adjust his game in the gym. His last outing saw him showcase his willingness to test himself as he entered into a mixed-rules bout with Muay Thai superstar Rodtang that saw Johnson survive one round under Muay Thai rules, before finishing his man when the bout switched to MMA rules in Round 2.

Now he’s back to face Moraes as he bids to capture a major championship in a second promotion.

Also set for action on the card is a battle for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai title, as reigning champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao takes on England’s Liam Harrison, while grappling ace Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida also returns to heavyweight MMA action against Belarusian contender Kirill Grishenko, while rising star of women’s MMA in Asia, Japan’s Itsuki Hirata, returns to action on the lead card against China’s Lin Heqin.
