PFL set to launch PFL Europe league in 2023

The Professional Fighters League is looking to expand its global reach and will establish a regular presence in Europe in 2023 with the launch of a new Euriopean league.

The promotion offers a unique league-based competition with fighters earning points through two regular-season bouts before the top points scorers progress to the playoff stages with the tournament semi-finals and finals.

And now the PFL is looking to expand that format to include a European league, with the announcement of PFL Europe.

PFL Europe events will be held on European soil and broadcast in European primetime timeslots as they look to produce the next wave of European fighting talent, with the league designed to identify the next big European contenders to progress to the main PFL global roster.

PFL CEO Peter Murray announced the launch of PFL Europe, stating, “I am pleased to announce the PFL will launch PFL Europe in 2023 to further advance the sport of MMA and fuel PFL’s next phase of global expansion starting in Europe, the number one international MMA growth region.

“Europe is rich with top fighters who are ready to compete in the PFL’s season format on a major stage and passionate MMA fans throughout the region will now have access to premium events staged in Europe.”

Some of the fighters lined up for PFL Europe action will be showcased at the PFL’s upcoming playoff events on August 13 and 20 in Cardiff and London, respectively, with new signings Dakota Ditcheva, Will Fleury, Francesco Nuzzi and Louie Sutherland among the fighters set for action in PFL Europe qualifier bouts.
