Rumours circulated around the bout being booked early in the week and now it’s confirmed.
News of this fight also confirms the recent noise made by UFC President Dana White, who seemed to cool on the idea of a fight pitting Cowboy against Conor McGregor being booked.
Cerrone recently returned to the UFC’s lightweight division, earning a TKO win over prospect Alexander Hernandez in Brooklyn.
Meanwhile, Iaquinta will hope victory over Cerrone will secure him a second title shot, having won a decision against Kevin Lee last time out.
