The UFC Octagon heads east to Singapore, where the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang plays host to a fight card packed with significant names, including a main event featuring two UFC featherweight legends.

Former 145-pound world champion and pound-for-pound great Max Holloway takes on the enigmatic finisher “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung in the headliner, with both men looking to prove a point to the rest of the featherweight division.

Holloway is 3-3 in his last six outings, but the three defeats all game against Alexander Volkanovski in title fights. Aside from his rivalry with the Australian world champion, Holloway has proved to be virtually untouchable, with his five-round victories over Calvin Kattar, Yair Rodriguez, and Arnold Allen showing that he remains at the top of his game.

He’ll face a fresh test on Saturday against another veteran of the division. “The Korean Zombie” is also 3-3 from his last six, and has alternated wins and losses through his last four outings. His five-round victory over Dan Ige in June 2021 earned him an April 2022 shot at Volkanovski’s title. But the South Korean went the same way as every other fighter to challenge the Aussie, as he lost out to Volkanovski at UFC 273.

Now Chan plans to bounce back by defeating the man considered by many to be the second-best fighter on the planet at 145 pounds.

The co-main event features a battle of fringe contenders at light heavyweight as Anthony Smith takes on Ryan Spann, while featherweights Giga Chikadze and Alex Caceres face off in what on paper looks like a potentially crowd-pleasing 145-pound matchup.

The card also sees the return of rising flyweight starlet Erin Blanchfield, who will look to extend her impressive win streak to nine fights with victory over Brazil’s Taila Santos, who is looking to bounce back after an unsuccessful challenge for the 125-pound title.
