Former UFC flyweight title challengers Henry Cejudo and Wilson Reis will battle it out on September 9 at UFC 216, it was today confirmed.
Olympian Cejudo, 10-2, is a man desperate for a win, having been stopped by UFC champion Demetrious Johnson and then narrowly edged out by Joseph Benavidez, and will be eager to get back into title contention. The same can be said for Wilson Reis, of course. Reis, a 32-year-old Brazilian, was last seen being tapped out by ‘Mighty Mouse’ in April and is therefore keen to bounce back and put that one-sided loss behind him.
Also announced for the UFC 216 fight card in Edmonton, Canada was a women’s bantamweight fight between Sarah Moras and Ashlee Evans-Smith.
Canadian Moras hasn’t seen any Octagon action since losing to Jessica Andrade at UFC Fight Night 71 in July 2015. Her opponent Evans-Smith, meanwhile, will be just as hungry to make a statement following a disappointing decision loss to Ketlen Vieira in April.
