Rob Hewitt, CEO of Fighters Only, is pleased to announce that Chael Sonnen is returning to host the 13th Annual Fighters Only World MMA Awards this Friday, December 10, at the state-of-the-art Worre Studios in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sonnen is one of the most recognisable personalities ever in the sport, both in and outside of the cage. After a legendary career competing, which saw him come up against some the biggest names of our time, ‘The Bad Guy’ seamlessly transitioned into his role in front of the camera with his various analyst roles, podcasts, and popular YouTube channel.
Known for his unpredictable remarks, polarizing takes on the sport, quick wit, and humour, anything could happen this Friday night.
Chael Sonnen: “I was contacted by Fighters Only about the World MMA Awards…didn’t even know I was nominated… But I have one spot left on my trophy shelf for prestigious silverware. Then they told me ‘You didn’t win…. YOU’RE HOSTING!’ So, TUNE IN THIS FRIDAY!”
Rob Hewitt: “It has been ten years since Chael last hosted The World MMA Awards and I am really happy to have him back again. Since he retired from fighting in 2019, after a Hall of Fame worthy career, he has just continued to excel at everything he has done whether it be on YouTube or his work for ESPN. Put Chael Sonnen in front of a microphone and camera and you know there will be guaranteed entertainment.”
The Fighters Only World Mixed Martial Arts Awards is the industry event for the sport of MMA and celebrates the achievements and performances of the people who make the sport what it is during a twelve-month period between July 2020 and July 2021.
Celebrities, industry executives, personalities, and a who’s who of fighters will take to the red carpet once again for this exclusive VIP invite only event to celebrate the achievements from the best of our industry.
