Following yesterday’s confirmation of a new co-main event at UFC 213, a couple more summer fights have been announced, this time for UFC 214 on July 29 in Anaheim.
The show, headlined by the UFC light-heavyweight title rematch between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones, will now be supported by a featherweight clash between ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung and Ricardo Lamas, a lightweight fight between Sage Northcutt and Claudio Puelles and a bantamweight showdown between Aljamain Sterling and former champion Renan Barao.
Jung, a fan favourite, returned from a three-and-a-half year hiatus in February to knock out Denis Bermudez inside a round on UFC Fight Night 104. Lamas, meanwhile, a former UFC featherweight title challenger, submitted fellow Brazilian Charles Oliveira last November but has yet to appear so far in 2017.
UFC 214, slated for July 29 in Anaheim, now looks like this…
Champ Daniel Cormier vs. Jon Jones (UFC light heavyweight title)
Renan Barao vs. Aljamain Sterling
Chan Sung Jung vs. Ricardo Lamas
Josh Burkman vs. Drew Dober
Sage Northcutt vs. Claudio Puelles
Alexandra Albu vs. Kailin Curran
Jarred Brooks vs. Eric Shelton
Dmitrii Smoliakov vs. Adam Wieczorkowski
