Two heavyweight giants will finally collide at ONE Fight Night 13: Allazov vs. Grigorian.

ONE Championship officials have confirmed that grappling ace Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida and Senegalese wrestling star “Reug Reug” Oumar Kane will lock horns under MMA rules at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday, August 5.

Injuries forced two prior meetings between the pair to be canceled, making the third time the charm for this heavyweight affair. Fans have debated which of these talented grapplers has the better skill since they were first booked to fight – and for good reason.

“Buchecha” is a 17-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion. He arrived in ONE in 2021 after deciding to switch to MMA and has been immensely dominant since his first outing in the Circle.

The Brazilian star has accrued four stoppages from as many fights – all in the first round – and scored his most crucial victory to date in his last appearance on ONE’s global stage.

At ONE on Prime Video 1 last August, he dismantled former ONE world title challenger Kirill Grishenko in 64 seconds to assert himself further in the ever-growing heavyweight division and push himself into contention for the divisional crown.

Kane may serve as “Buchecha’s” biggest adversary in both size and stature when they meet at ONE Fight Night 13, however.

The Senegalese wrestling champion possesses a plethora of dangerous attributes that helped gain him a name even before he moved to ONE.

His ruthless firepower and work rate have spelled disaster for most of his adversaries inside the Circle, so far, and he’ll carry an impressive 4-1 slate into his meeting with Almeida.

“Reug Reug” can get the job done on the feet and the canvas, making him an all-round threat, and his most recent win, against Jasur Mirzamukhamedov last December, has him sitting on a two-fight winning streak.

Who wins this heavyweight showdown on 5th August is anybody’s guess. But with ONE heavyweight world champion Arjan Bhullar and interim king Anatoly Malykhin meeting to unify the belt at ONE Friday Fights on 23rd June, this bout will likely decide the next challenger to the coveted crown.
