Former WEC and UFC lightweight champion Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis has revealed that he will be dropping to featherweight. He announced the news via Instagram.
Pettis will reportedly be enlisting the help of renowned MMA nutritionist Mike Dolce to help him drop from 155lb to 145lb.
The former WEC and UFC champ is currently on a three-fight losing streak, most recently losing a decision to lightweight contender Edson Barboza. His other recent losses came at the hands of Rafael dos Anjos (World MMA Awards ‘Upset of the Year’), which lost him the UFC title, and former Bellator champ Eddie Alvarez.
With 145lb currently ruled by the biggest start in the sport, Conor McGregor, and with other exciting contenders like Max Holloway, Jeremy Stephens, Frankie Edgar and former champ Jose Aldo all in the mix, there are plenty of exciting potential fights for the highlight reel specialist.
