When it comes to analysing Saturday’s (July 8) UFC interim middleweight title fight between Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker, few are more qualified to do so than Michael ‘The Count’ Bisping, the full UFC middleweight champion.
After all, Romero and Whittaker meet at UFC 213 not only for the chance to wear UFC gold – if only temporarily – but to also rubber-stamp their shot at Bisping and his belt later this year.
It’s for this reason Bisping has taken an active interest in the fight. It’s also why his opinion on the contest – a fight that has many people divided on the outcome – holds more weight than perhaps anybody else’s.
