Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson defended his UFC flyweight title for an eighth consecutive time at UFC 197 on April 23rd, finishing Olympic gold medal wrestler Henry Cejudo inside one round via TKO.

“I think (Johnson’s) ridiculously, unbelievably, incredibly talented,” UFC president Dana White said in a post-UFC 197 interview. “He went in there against an Olympian – undefeated, 10-0 – and made it look easy.”

Since former UFC middleweight king Anderson Silva was dethroned almost three years ago, the debate on who is MMA’s top pound-for-pound fighter has been raging with most fans going back-and-forth on Johnson and top 205lb’er Jon Jones. With both men grabbing wins at UFC 197 but Johnson doing so in much more impressive fashion, the argument looks to have tipped the scales for the 125lb champ.

“He has the most complete MMA game out of any fighter I’ve ever seen, ever,” UFC commentator Joe Rogan said of Johnson when he finished Cejudo. “That’s the best pound-for-pound fighter ever.”

After previously holding Jones in his P4P top spot, Dana appears to have had his opinion swayed by Johnson’s most recent dominant performance.

“I agree with Joe Rogan, he’s the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world,” Dana said.
